If you would like to volunteer to help with and / or to learn how to be involved with any of the activities at the Women’s Centre, please get in touch.
Whether you have a little or a lot of time (ideally weekdays), volunteers are always welcome. Areas of work include: general admin, research, putting together fact sheets, organising events, outreach and publicity (meetings, stalls, leaflet design and more), letter-writing, transcribing, video-editing, support for self-help, cooking, theatre, and more! We know everyone has wonderful experiences and skills that are often not recognised and valued – we do – and the Centre is a great training ground to learn more.
Please call or email to let us know your interests and skills, and we’ll get back to you and arrange a chat.
Some comments from volunteers about working at the Centre:
“It changed my life. I feel part of a group of women doing something useful for other women. As an immigrant I was treated the same as everyone else.”
"I love coming to the Centre. It is one of the highlights of m week. I don’t know of anywhere else that promotes community cohesion, human and civil rights in such a wonderful and inspiring way.”
“It’s a pleasure to volunteer, there should be more places like Crossroads.”
"Love it, always feel better and uplifted after attending.”
“A wonderful group, caring and committed.”
“A truly brilliant organisation. I am really happy to be involved in such a high energy and positive place. I feel as if I can help, even if only in a small way.
“healthy organic group meals are another notable aspect of this great place!”
