Thank You to Our Funders and Our Supporters

Our grant-making efforts and the generosity of the many people who donated and helped with fundraising, enabled us to purchase and refurbish our new Centre.

 We are most grateful to:

u    The City Bridge Trust which helped us make the building accessible to people with different disabilities.

u   The Big Lottery Fund which helped with funding for refurbishment as well as for a volunteer co-ordinator for the next five years.

u  The Community Sustainable Energy Programme and Scottish Power Green Energy Trust which helped fund our solar panels!  We’re monitoring how much solar electricity we are producing and how much CO2 – and money –  we are saving.

We especially want to thank all those who donated their time and expertise to help with grant applications, planning applications and all kinds of technical and other advice, as well as the talented artists and performers who held benefits for us.

Above all, we thank those soul mates and well wishers who made donations and standing orders whether or not they could afford it. Our cup runneth over.

In order to keep some costs down while using eco-paint and natural oils, we did the internal decoration ourselves – a team of enthusiastic volunteers spent many weekends and evenings sanding, painting, oiling, pointing, washing . . . while others cooked and made cups of tea to keep everyone going.  And we looked for good deals on items like lights, tiles, kitchen appliances and cupboards . . . Thank you all!  We can now enjoy the beautiful space we created together.

We Are Still Fundraising

We have begun to pay back our £50,000 debt from the purchase of the building

Please let us know if you would like to

- organise a benefit

- do a sponsored walk/run/slim/cycle . . .

- any other fundraising ideas you may have!

Online donations are very easy!  We very much welcome standing orders and Taxpayers’ Gift Aid which increase donations by 28% at no cost to you.  If you’re in waged work, please encourage your employer to register with GAYE (Give As You Earn) if they haven’t already, and encourage your work colleagues to donate regularly via the scheme.  We’ll be glad to send someone to speak about the Centre if you feel that will be useful.
