Valuing caring work

Wed 10 Oct 2012 1-3pm

Workshop l All Welcome

Legislation in the US is calling for welfare to recognise mothers’ caring work. Why not here? The unions are marching on 20 Oct “for a future that works”. With the cuts mothers and other carers are working even harder. Will they recognise mothers as workers?

Crossroads Women’s Centre
25 Wolsey Mews, Kentish Town, London NW5 2AB

Volunteers welcome – there’s lots to do!

SMSD is a network of mothers & other carers of different races & backgrounds – single, widowed, divorced, with disabilities, teenagers, grannies, refugee, immigrant, queer, foster mothers. Some of us have disabled children, some are separated from our children, some have been in detention or prison . . . We share experiences, support each other, and campaign for our rights.
